Happiness

Get excited about the little things. About anything that even remotely makes you happy because as you grow up, passions fade and enthusiasm gets mistaken for foolishness. So don’t let the grey world stop you from shining. -- Unknown

Happiness is not a competition. It is not something you can win like a stuffed elephant at the fair. It's something you find within yourself, something that only you can find for yourself. You can't ask for it, and you most definitely can't find it in another person. Being happy isn't about beating someone at their own game, making the most money, driving the better car or having the bigger house. Happiness is realizing your own worth. Realizing that you're worth the fight and the search and everything in between the ups and downs of life. You are worthy of happiness. Happiness doesn't judge where you are in life. The only person that can take happiness away from you is you.

Find happiness in the world around you. In wearing a new outfit, late night road trips with your best friends, listening to your favourite song. About Sunday mornings, having the courage to go after something you've always wanted. About finding an extra loonie on the ground and getting home just in time to beat the rain. About fresh laundry and messing up a perfectly made bed.

If you're looking for reasons to be mad at the world, you'll always find them. Just like if you search for reasons to smile, you'll always find them. It's all about perspective.
