YAY OR NAY: Lancôme x Alber Elbaz Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara

In 2013, Lancôme collaborated with Alber Elbaz on a collection of eye makeup products. I know I'm completely late to the party, but I need to express my utter depression with this fact -- as well as the fact that I just finished off this entire tube of mascara. It's become a staple in my makeup bag, and I'm saddened you can no longer purchase it with this very same design.

My mum brought me home this mascara after a shopping trip down in the States, and I had pushed it to the end of the mascaras I already had to use up first. She had found it in the clearance section and bought it strictly because, "It was too cute not to."

Everyone who knows the first thing about marketing knows that products need to have an aesthetic. They need to look good, on top of performing what they are advertised to do. This mascara does both. It's packaging is adorable, making it stand out from the rest of the bland tubes laying out on the rack, and it also created somewhat of a "doll-lash" effect to your lashes.

They no longer sell the Alber Elbaz collections in stores, however you can still purchase this mascara (x). Elbaz didn't change much of Lancôme's palettes or the effects of its products, however he seemingly gave some life and flare the products he did release with them.

I normally don't spend over $10 on my mascara, which is possibly why I always felt they all did the same thing. Some were better than others, but none were ever extraordinary or made my eyes pop. I always just bought them when they were on sale at the drugstore, but this time I'll reconsider.

Lancôme's Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara is most definitely going to stay a staple in my makeup bag.

I'm just so upset they're no longer in stores. Come on, Lancôme!

Happy Monday, loves!

Currently counting down the days until I'm in a sunshine paradise.

For now, I've gotta get bundled up for class.

Hell Hath No Fury

I've been nominated three times now to do the Liebster Award, and although I've already done it, I might redo it again and answer the questions given by those that nominated me. I was thinking of maybe doing it in a video, but I haven't quite decided yet.

Today's been a bit of a blah day, and my muscles kill from last night's workout, so I didn't do much. I missed my first two classes, then just went in for my French exam.

On my way to class, I slipped and fell in the newly fallen snow. (Awesome.)

Anyway, now I'm watching Scandal and writing some new ideas for the blog and just writing in general.

I hope you had all had a great week!

Sorry for this lazy post, hehe!

OOTW: Shift Dress

I've been looking for a shift dress for quite some time now, and finally found an inexpensive one over at Double A Side Apparel. They have perfect basics for your wardrobe, at a cheap cost. I just ordered the black longline tee, which I'm super stoked on receiving in the mail.

I received an email from them giving me a promo code for free shipping, which you can also use ('FLYMESOMEGOODIES') at checkout. They've got a 50% off sale going for their stock right now, so if you're looking for that perfect basic tee to put underneath your leather jacket, or wear with some hot jeans, check them out!

And so, this week's outfit is based off a simple black t-shirt dress.

Happy Monday, loves!

Never To Return Again

I'll admit, I'm terrible at sticking to any sort of budget. This is probably definitely the reason why three quarters of the way through every semester, I wind up stressed and broke. Why am I saying this now?

I just bought a thing or two for my trip in February.

A thing or two too many. (At least according to my bank account. -- Shhh.)

I'm going on a cruise to somewhere sunny and warm (hallelujah!) during my school's reading week - AKA our Spring Break - and due to this and Canada's lacklustre sunny days through winter, I've been telling myself it's an excuse to buy some new clothes. Even if they won't get worn for a few more months after that one week away.

It was 4:30 AM and I ordered:

The Ecote Crinkle Square Kimono from Urban Outfitters (on sale for $39). This will look totally cute over my bathing suit whilst lounging around the pool. Or even just some shorts and a simple tank. Light and breezy!

I also ordered a new pair of sunglasses, since apparently my favourite pair have decided to go missing on me.

The other day I also ordered this one-piece swimsuit from Victoria's Secret:

A girl can never have too many bathing suits, right? Right??!

Mum's totally gonna kill me.

Now, I leave you with some wanderlusty photos I've been looking at to keep me from buying anything else.

Places I'll be seeing pretty darn soon!

Day in Bed

I've been sick since Saturday, so apart from going to classes and grabbing groceries, I haven't really left my bed. Wednesday's I have the day off, so I'm going to sip some Your Tea and continue my Law & Order: SVU binge on Netflix.

Just two days of classes in and I already feel like I need another break.

Hope you're having a better week than I am!

This is My Winter Song

Currently procrastinating finishing my packing for tomorrow today. It's an early start (6:30 - eep!), so I'm just going to put up a few snaps of what I got up to during my last week at home. I hate to say it, but yes, I am already homesick. Sigh.

I'm trying to figure out how in the world you can fit both winter and summer clothes for my Spring Break trip. As of right now, I'm convinced it's impossible.

OOTW: Casual Monday's

Here with another outfit of the week! I'm still madly in love with this YSL bag,  and only in my dreams will I ever get a chance to tote one around (ha!). Currently sitting here, watching Canada kick some ass at the World Juniors gold medal game! *knock on wood*

Happy Monday, babes!

A Girl And Her Bed On Sunday...

It's my last Sunday here at home before it's back to school and back to reality. I'm spending it just as you should: doing absolutely nothing. I'll probably throw in some eating for good measure, but other than that, it's a relaxing day reading, watching TV and getting organized for the new semester to start.

I hope you have a great start to this new week! Remember, most of your favourite shows start coming back today (at least, mine do)!

02 January 2015

Hi 2015

New Year's was pretty eventful. I headed off to one party to spend some time with friends, before getting a ride over to another party to ring in midnight and the new year with some others. I had wanted to spend as much time with everyone as possible, as I leave on the eighth and I know I probably won't have a lot of time to see them again.

I chopped off my hair just hours before heading out, and kept thinking to myself how bald I felt throughout the rest of the day. I think I like it though, heck of a lot less annoying than how long my hair was before.

Yesterday was spent recovering and sleeping, then getting disappointed by the Canucks game. Today, my family and I literally just rolled out of bed and headed out for a late lunch at Orrange. I had a very delicious ciabatta sandwich and some french fries (oops, there goes clean eating in the new year already).

I promise we like each other. Sometimes.

Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend!

(Also, go Canada!!)
